Heaven and Hell

Many people wonder just what Heaven and Hell will be like. I found this Parable that gives a glimpse and only a glimpse into each because the truth is so unimaginable for both. I do remember many, many years ago seeing a TV story that showed how Hell was depicted. This was before I was a Christian and I didn’t believe in Heaven or Hell. But, when I saw how horrible they said that Hell would be, I still wasn’t sure if there was a Heaven or Hell but I knew I didn’t want to go to Hell. Maybe there are some of you out there that don’t know if you believe but I am here to tell you that the Bible is true, cover to cover and Hell is a place that is the total absence of God, goodness, joy, light, love or kindness. You may think your “friends” will be with you there, but there are no friends in Hell, everyone is out for themselves and all in pain and agony, all day long 24/7. It is not God’s plan you go there, He gave you the right to choose. So choose you this day who you will serve, as for me…I will serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

Parable of the Spoons

A man was having a conversation with the Lord and said; “Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.” The Lord led the man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the man saw in the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled and looked delicious.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished, starving. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each one found it easy to reach the pot of stew and get a heaping spoonful but because the handle was longer than their arms, they couldn’t get the spoons back into their mouths. The man was horrified at the sight of misery and suffering. The food was so close and yet so far. The Lord told the man; “you have seen Hell.”

Then they went into the other room. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the scrumptious pot of stew in the center. All the people had the same long handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished , happy, laughing and talking. The man said; ‘I don’t understand.” The Lord said; It is simple, it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other while the greedy only think of themselves.” He finally understood.

The man wanted to make a difference, he ran back into Hell and whispered to one of the starving people; “You don’t have to go hungry, use your spoon to feed your neighbor and he will be grateful and feed you with his spoon.” The person said; “You expect me to feed that detestable person across from me? I would rather starve than give him the pleasure of eating!” Matthew 25:46 2 Thess 1:9 Matt 13:50 Rev 20:13-14 John 14:1-7 Isaiah 25:6-9
