Trusting God, do you really? We say we do, but
How do you react when illness comes your way? Do you fret or freak out about what could happen to you or do you release your health to God? Trusting Him for your healing, and yes, that does mean seeking good medical attention when needed.
What about trusting Him for your marriage? Is there dissention, anger, frustration, do you feel you’ve “lost that loving feeling?” What was God’s plan for marriages? Read: 1 Corinthians 13 to see how to treat your spouse. If need be, swallow your pride, speak to your Pastor or your Christian marriage counselors. Maybe it isn’t the lost love for each other; maybe it started with your complacent love for Christ.
How about your finances? Do you really believe nine tenths can go further than ten tenths? Do you trust what the Word says about tithing? I liked what a Pastor told us in a Revival about someone in his own congregation. The man wouldn’t tithe. He said he just couldn’t afford it. He had to pay his bills and he couldn’t put tithing in his budget. The Pastor told him what the Bible said and how he could trust what God’s Word says. The man said that he did trust God, the Pastor said, okay, well how about in your finances? The man said I just can’t do it. So the Pastor said, I’ll tell you what, you tithe and if you don’t have enough money to pay your bills, I will pay your bills for you. After telling him this, the man said, okay! The Pastor said; “Shame on you. You trust me to pay your bills, but you can’t trust that God will handle things and trust in His Word!”
Sometimes I think we are so much like “doubting Thomas.” He was “with” Jesus, he “saw” His miracles everyday, and knew what He had said He would do but still Thomas had to “see” with his own eyes before he would believe what the other disciples were telling him.
Jesus said in the Word: “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29
If you need to be reminded of what trusting in God can do, go to the Word and read all of Hebrews 11. Stop looking at your circumstances and look to Jesus and what He will do for your circumstances. Trust Him in all areas of your life.
