Let's Have Revival!

“March came in like a lion,” as the old proverb goes, and I do hope it goes out like a lamb.  The Weather Channel called our weather last month “February Fury,” reporting this winter as the coldest in Florida’s weather history.  We have also heard of severe weather up north and even in the deep south, including earthquakes in Haiti and Chili, with after shocks in Japan.  As the Bible says, earthquakes will happen in diverse places, thus changing lives almost daily.  But with all this happening, we have a sure word from God.  “I am the Lord, I change not” (Malachi 3:16).  Our heavenly Father will not change, nor will our Lord Jesus Christ.  Hebrews 13:8 declares, “Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and today and forever.”

Let us look to Jesus—who is the author and finisher of our faith—to keep us, in the ominous days we live.  He does not change; thus he can give us the revival we need as sure as He gave the early church power to have faith and victory.  He can give us that same power through revival for growth in our personal lives and a spiritual refreshing to face the future.

Let us at Northwest look to Him in faith for our every need to be fulfilled.  My prayer is, “Do a great work in us these few days.  Help us to believe for great things to happen in our March revival, and may we all keep our faith strong and highly active for a time such as this!”  The old song says, “Revive us Lord, Revive us Lord!”  That is our heart’s cry, revive us Lord.

Revival is for the church, not the sinner.  We need to take a closer inward look at the things that are holding us back from having real revival.  The world needs salvation but the churches need to be awakened with a great revival as came in times past.  However, revival only comes through prayer, fasting and calling out to God with a humble and repentant heart.  If you have not committed to fasting and praying for revival you still have time to join those who have done so.  Remember, they were all in one mind and one accord when the Holy Spirit descended upon the upper room.  Let’s join together in one mind and one accord to see the Spirit move and let’s expect revival!

Revive us Lord!

Love and prayers,

~ Pastor Roberts
