Love and Faith are Kin

I Corinthians Chapter 13

Smith Wigglesworth writes, “Imagine a young man and woman who have fallen in love.  In a short while, there is a strong love for each other.  What is a heart of love?  It is a heart of faith.  Faith and love are kin.  In the measure that the young man and young woman love one another, they are true.  One may go North and the other South, but because of their love, they will be faithful to one another.”

I believe it is the same love—deep love—that we have for Jesus Christ when we receive Him as our personal Savior.  No matter where we go, what we do, whatever the circumstances in our life nothing can separate us from that love of God and commitment to Him.  We cannot doubt in our hearts.  As we read the Word of God and believe in His promises, we are made partakers of His will, His way, and His life.  We are His Bride, and Jesus is our Bridegroom.

It is impossible to comprehend the Love of God without that measure of faith He has imparted to us.  It was the love of God that brought Jesus to us and the revelation of His Word that keeps our relationship strong.  Have you read your love letters lately?  They are written from our Bridegroom to us with love.  Whenever you love someone with a love that is true, that love is unselfish, giving, forgiving, it gives you strength when you are weak and encouragement when you are discouraged, and it is there for you when you are sick, because love never fails.

Take time this month to fall in love with Jesus all over again.

Love and prayers,

~ Pastor Roberts
