The Greatest Gift Given
Strange isn’t it? Most of us
give gifts to everyone but the One whose birthday we celebrate. Gifts to family
members, co-workers, the one who gave us an unexpected gift, the postal worker,
yard maintenance crew, people we feel obligated to, …and the list goes on. A
good question we might ask ourselves is this: “What am I going to give to the
Lord Jesus this Christmas to celebrate His Birthday?” If you have never trusted
Him as your Savior, what He desires most from you is a believing heart. Why not
put your faith in Him today (John 3:16)?
God has given us many gifts through His Son, the greatest and most precious of
these being our personal salvation through Jesus Christ. Being saved is a
reality and no one can take that away from you; it is an eternal gift. There is
the great gift of peace that comes from knowing the Prince of Peace. There is
the wonderful gift of freedom and the knowledge of knowing and embracing the
fact that you are free indeed; and along with that wonderful gift is the
manifestation of power to keep your free. Thank God for salvation; thank God for
peace in a world of turmoil; thank God for freedom in the Spirit as well as
freedom in our land. What awesome gifts are just waiting to be unwrapped! Gifts
that never fade, never lose their attractiveness, never go out of style, are
always in demand and are free for the asking! What a wonderful Giver. …Should we
not give back in return for such priceless gifts?
If you have already trusted Him for salvation, this is an appropriate time to
respond with a special gift at Christmas. He is doing mighty things through
Northwest, but currently His house that clothes Northwest Ministries and the
place we worship together is in need of additional support. Please consider a
generous donation to help reduce this indebtedness. If you are a Bondholder
perhaps you might consider donating a Bond or the interest from your Bond as a
Christmas Gift for the King to see His Kingdom continue to expand at Northwest.
God bless you for your faithfulness in 2009. May you greatly prosper
spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially in the New Year. Be
blessed!
Love and prayers,
~ Pastor Roberts
