Spring Approaches

“For as the earth brings forth its bud…so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all nations”  (Isaiah 61:11)

On the Day of Pentecost God sent His Holy Spirit as a rushing mighty wind and filled a hundred and twenty people in the upper room.  They began to speak with other tongues, giving praise to God in many different languages.  Here is an example of the nations seeing praise begin to flow forth as prophesied in Isaiah 61:11.  But it didn’t end there.

The people that heard Peter speak that day (3,000 of them) turned their souls over to Jesus, receiving Him as Savior.  This was the beginning of the end-time harvest of souls.

The disciples had obeyed Christ waiting in the Upper Room until the Holy Ghost came.  Jesus had instructed them to go into all the world but first commanded them to wait until they had been endued with power.  Now that Pentecost had fully come and they saw the harvest of 3,000 souls, it was just the beginning—they would see many, many more come to Jesus.

As spring approaches it reminds us of the Holy Spirit who causes the Word to bloom in the hearts of men as in Isa. 61:11.  This is springtime and a time of new beginnings, so let’s pray that revival and mission efforts blossom at Northwest and bring in a harvest of souls for the Kingdom.

Love and prayers,

~ Pastor Roberts
